RAPA celebrates its 100th anniversary!

The Bavarian Minister of Trade and Commerce, Hubert Aiwanger, opens a state-of-the-art production facility – just in time for the official celebrations to mark the company’s 100th anniversary.

1000 employees in Germany and America; development and system partner of leading companies in the automotive, medical technology and industrial sectors; a family owned and managed medium-sized company with a hands-on mentality, a sought after employer with a problem solving culture – this is what RAPA, the owners and employees stand for today. The development from a small craftsman’s business in Upper Franconia to a technology partner with a global footprint is therefore also the focus of our 100
th anniversary, which we will officially celebrate on September 23, 2020.
As a supply chain partner, we are the preferred choice of OEMs and equipment manufacturers when it comes to the development and production of valves and valve systems as well as mechatronic components. We supply individual modules or complete system solutions with customer-specific product developments. RAPA makes complex technologies efficient and above all, user-friendly. From the initial idea to series production, we are known to our customers as problem solvers.
The RAPA story: Always close to the customers
Even though we are now active throughout Europe, America and China, Selb in Upper Franconia remains the heart of RAPA. This is also where the success story started 100 years ago: The businessman Hans Rausch and the technician August Pausch founded the company, their initials “Ra” and “Pa” also gave the name to the company. We are proud to be an owner-managed family business still today.

Since 2010, Dr. Roman Pausch, representing the fourth generation of the Pausch family, has been acting as the managing partner. He and his management team maintain and live on the values of the founders: Excellence through experience achieving best quality, customer orientation, trust, sustainable added value as well as responsibility for the people in the company.

As dynamically as the markets are developing, the product requirements are becoming as diverse and special. We are only successful because we listen to our customers and know their problems. We are involved in planning and development earlier than others. Dr. Roman Pausch describes our RAPA approach as follows: “We want to work together in partnerships, because this is the only way we can master future challenges. By means of the interplay of people, process and technology we are able to optimize costs, speed, risk and flexibility”. Customer orientation is firmly anchored in our corporate culture and has shaped the entire development of RAPA. In this context, we like to be reminded of a quotation of Albert Pausch from the second generation: “You have to be at the customer’s side, if you open your ears at the customer’s side, you will find out everything you need to know”.
