At Compamed 2022: RAPA Healthcare presents high-tech for medical devices

From product development consulting to series production

Once again RAPA Healthcare presents itself at the Compamed in Düsseldorf – after the successful premiere last year. The trade fair is an ideal information and communication platform to present the range and competencies of the valve specialist and high-tech product manufacturer. Trade visitors will gain insights into the development and production of fluid and pneumatic components such as solenoid valves and their many possibilities for medical technology. RAPA Healthcare will occupy booth P11 in hall 8A. Compamed runs from November 14-17, 2022.

A core competence of the Healthcare division is the realization of very specific customer requirements. Instead of preconfigured “catalog products”, RAPA inspires with individual and precise engineering. The focus is always on the respective customer and market requirements. Thus, almost 100 percent of the medical technology components manufactured at RAPA are tailor-made. To ensure that deliveries are nevertheless efficient and cost-optimized, the company relies on sophisticated modular systems and common platforms.

References from all over the world
At RAPA, proven valve technology forms the basis for many product developments. This approach is well received, as confirmed by successful national and international customer references from various industries. This year, the company also received the TOP 100 – the innovative medium-sized company award. ” This award motivates us to continue developing high-quality, high-performance and innovative product solutions for our customers in the healthcare segment,” says Dr. Roman Pausch, Chairman of the Board of Management | RAPA Group of Companies.

Valves for medical technology – solution-oriented for all fluid technology tasks
RAPA Healthcare manufactures components for all areas of medical technology: for example, hydraulic valves for lifting force support and precise control in adjustment systems for patient beds or operating tables. Furthermore, valves for dialysis machines and for applications in anesthesia, emergency medicine, intensive care and biomedicine. A particular challenge is posed by so-called media-contacting components that come into direct contact with the human body, for example when handling fluids in dialysis machines. For applications in analytical technology, RAPA offers special valves that are highly resistant to aggressive media and gases.

Günter Knubbe, RAPA senior key account manager, on market requirements: “Valves in medical technology require high reliability and functionality, a long service life, energy efficiency as well as weight savings while being highly economical.” RAPA is therefore always a development partner for manufacturers, he says. “We know the challenges in the industry and have extensive experience in valve technology and fluidics to offer solutions that are cost-effective, safe and ready to install – without compromising on quality.”

RAPA is a development partner for medical technology manufacturers
All valves from RAPA are individually designed in terms of material such as special materials, actuator, electrical connections or technical characteristics. For example, flow rate, characteristic curve or sound and noise level, switching cycles or tightness are modified according to the tasks. The experts at RAPA Healthcare offer an all-round service – from the initial consultation to engineering, component development, prototyping, process development, assembly and series production.

The expertise is based on the wealth of experience of the highly qualified employees. Many have been with the company for a long time. For example, RAPA alone employs over 150 specialists and engineers in valve development and in the technology areas of materials, hydrodynamics, pneumatics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, acoustics, flow simulation and analysis, temperature behavior and vibration resistance.

RAPA Healthcare
RAPA Healthcare is a 100% subsidiary of the RAPA group of companies from Selb (Bavaria), which also has subsidiaries in the USA and China. The medical technology division develops and produces customer-specific components or complete assemblies such as valves and fluidic systems for medical and analytical equipment. The products are used primarily in the handling of gases and liquids in medical and laboratory technology as well as biotechnology. RAPA Healthcare operates internationally and has been managed by Reinhard Schlechte since 2019. All necessary accreditations and certifications for the medical market are in place – including the important EU-harmonized standard ISO 13485. For more than 20 years, RAPA has been a supplier of media-separated valves used in dialysis machines from market leader Fresenius Medial Care.

RAPA Healthcare benefits from the development know-how, testing and automated production and assembly within the medium-sized group of companies. The other two divisions serve top customers from the international automotive industry and the manufacturing industry. With a production area of more than 11,000 m2 and 2,500 m2 of laboratory and validation space, the company produces in seven production halls. In 2020, RAPA celebrated its 100th anniversary.
