66 days after the plant opening – insights and experiences
Last Friday marked a special date: 66 days since the opening of our new plant in Changzhou. What has happened since then? Our colleagues on site talk about challenges, progress and the first major successes. From the establishment of a modern site to milestones in research and development – a look behind the scenes that shows how international cooperation and local expertise can achieve great things.
What are the current goals and challenges for you and your team?
“One of the biggest challenges for us is the rapid ramp-up and stabilization of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). My goal is to tackle all technical and logistical challenges as a team in a structured and solution-oriented manner in order to achieve our common goals.” PAN Jiawei, Head of Operating Technology
What milestones have you already achieved in the area of R&D?
“Our laboratory is at the heart of technological innovation and quality control. The construction of the laboratory during the preparations demonstrates the excellent cross-departmental cooperation between our sites in Germany and China. Through careful planning and professional know-how, we were able to establish efficient time, cost and quality management. In addition, we succeeded in building a strong R&D team with specialist departments for product development, electrical engineering and laboratory management. ZHANG Huihui, Head of Research and Development
From your perspective, how did the start at the new plant in Jintan go?
“From the ground-breaking ceremony to the start of production, all employees have worked on this project with great responsibility and passion. Their hard work has strengthened the team spirit and performance of our team. I particularly like the open workplace design, which encourages collaboration and creates an inspiring working environment. These insights show our colleagues how RAPA China has grown in recent months and is positioning itself for the future. The Changzhou location not only symbolizes RAPA’s expansion, but also the commitment and passion of the entire team.” CHEN Jianqiu, Head of Human Resources
What was the most impressive part of building the work for you and what do you like best about it?
“It only took one year from laying the foundation stone to opening the plant – that shows the speed of RAPA and the speed of China. To remain accident-free in this short time is a great achievement. I particularly like the industrial design of our office area, which fits in perfectly with our modern way of working. LU Kai, EHS Officer
