RAPA’s chinese name is “Laushi Baoshi”.
You would think that RAPA is called RAPA all over the world. But many Chinese cannot pronounce the word “RAPA” and so we – like almost all other German companies – have chosen a different name for China.
Many thoughts and considerations went into finding a name and finally we found a translation that has a special meaning as well as sounds similar to the original German name (Rausch & Pausch) to Chinese ears. In the future, we will market the RAPA brand in China with “Laushi Baoshi” (pronounced as Lau-schi-Bau-schi). In German, this means something like “hard-working” and “protection”.
A good Chinese name is in any case the first step to a good image and business success in the land of smiles. Best wishes for continued success!
