Industrial Engineer Automotive (m/f/d)


Your Task and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical adeptness in the area of manufacturing processes, and a willingness to learn the existing manufacturing processes and equipment, and the associated operation and maintenance
  • Coordinate with project team and process development engineers to ensure a timely and efficient handover of new product and process launches to series production
  • Establish relationships with European colleagues and exchange information about products, processes and customer requirements
  • Develop process improvement and analysis mechanisms to improve existing manufacturing processes
  • Work with equipment and materials manufacturers as necessary to ensure proper operation and improvement of the equipment and processes to meet stated production and quality goals
  • Assist in the production of assembly prototypes based on the manufacturing process and specs provided
  • Assure product and process quality by performing and developing testing methods, creating and upkeeping standardized work and machine adjustment instructions, and maintaining existing PFMEAs
  • Ensure the reliability of manufacturing and testing processes by performing process/gage capabilities and performing gage R&Rs both with MS Excel and various other statistical software
  • Calculate and provide values for machine uptimes; labor, material, and scrap costs; and production rate information in order to establish benchmarks for continuous improvement activities and monitor production
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate information and trends and have the ability to interpret the information into a beneficial summary, report, or metric
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Keeps equipment operational by developing and facilitating PM procedures in coordination with production management, maintenance, and repair services
  • Maintains and utilizes process data from the various assembly processes and be able to analyze said data when necessary
  • Develop and complete cycle time studies of existing manufacturing process and use this information to keep capacity and value stream information up to date
  • Manage and perform to completion of process related ECRs and deviations for existing equipment and processes
  • Willingness to learn and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and attending training on the various manufacturing processes and procedures

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from accredited institution
  • One to Five (5) years of experience in the field of industrial, process and automation engineering. Intern and/or co-op experience a plus
  • Ability to hold a passport and travel within Germany without accompaniment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Some knowledge of the German language and customs are a plus
  • Microsoft Office, CAD, Minitab, or other production software experience
  • One to Five (5) years of experience in the field of industrial, process and automation engineering. Intern and/or co-op experience a plus
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects and assignments with proficiency.
